Washington, July 21 (SANA) TheU.S. militaryannounced on Monday the start of a new wave ofairstrikesagainstIran, ordered by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated in a post on the “X” platform, that the objective of the strikes is to weaken Iran’s military capabilities used to target commercial vessels and civilian crews transiting theStrait of Hormuz.

Today at 4 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began a new round of strikes against Iran at the Commander in Chief's direction. The strikes are designed to further degrade Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier on Monday, the U.S. military confirmed it had carried out another wave of strikes on Iran, marking the ninth consecutive night of operations.
