One of Singapore’s greatest strengths is that our diversity brings us together, rather than drives us apart. We celebrate one another’s festivals, share each other’s traditions, and build friendships that last a lifetime. All this didn’t happen by chance. It is the result of generations of Singaporeans choosing respect over prejudice, and understanding over suspicion. In a world where differences too often pull societies apart, preserving that spirit of mutual trust and respect matters more than ever. I’m especially heartened to see our young people embracing one another’s cultures and forging friendships across communities. They will carry our multiracial story forward and keep Singapore strong, resilient and united. Happy Racial Harmony Day!
