President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran is engaged in a "full-scale war" with the United States, with the economy and people's livelihoods being at the forefront of the battle.

Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting of the High Council of the Judiciary in Tehran on Monday as he elaborated on the enemies’ hybrid war against the Islamic Republic.

“The reality is that today the Islamic Republic of Iran is engaged in a full-scale war. Today's war is not a war of merely missiles," he said.

He said the enemy has come to the conclusion that military strikes cannot compel the Iranian nation to surrender.

Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's determination to defend its national interests, saying the country must remain realistic about the costs and consequences of such steadfastness.

"We will stand to the last breath in defense of our country and the interests of the nation and have no doubt in this path,” he said.

The president noted that unity, cohesion, and solidarity are presently the most critical needs of the country.

"Despite all these circumstances, the most important need of the country is maintaining unity, cohesion, solidarity, and consensus among all the pillars of the [Islamic] establishment.”

He added that the government will strive with all its might to strengthen national convergence.

Pointing to the complex challenges facing the country, the president said the simultaneous confrontation with external threats and settlement of internal issues are an "unavoidable necessity."

He asserted that Iran's adversaries are resorting to all means to hinder the country's progress and prevent it from continuing its path with dignity, authority, and honor.

"They do not want an independent, powerful, and successful country to emerge in this region,” Pezeshkian said, noting that it will certainly be difficult to manage both external pressure and internal challenges.

Addressing negotiations with the United States and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries in June, he stressed the importance of fully protecting national rights and interests and rejected any retreat from the country’s principles or values.

The president emphasized that Iran did not compromise on its rights, principles, national interests, revolutionary values, and beliefs in any of the 14 paragraphs of the war-ending MoU.

He said no concessions contrary to Iran's interests had been made and that a precise review of the understanding shows that most of its achievements are beneficial to the country.

“Practically, no paragraph could be found that has created a one-sided advantage for the American side,” he pointed out.

The United States has perpetrated numerous violations against Iranian territory since April 7, when US President Donald Trump announced a unilateral ceasefire in the latest bout of American-Israeli aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.

The violations continued even after Washington and Tehran signed the Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding in June, whose first clause clearly mandates cessation of aggression on all fronts.
