Wilson praises Syria’s “turning point” after fall of deposed regime

In a post on the “X” platform on Monday, Wilson stated that the fall of the deposed regime was followed by the withdrawal of Iranian forces, the elimination of ISIS, and the return of 3.5 million Syrians to their homes, marking one of the largest repatriation movements of the 21st century.Wilson pointed out that in 2019 he had asserted there was no solution for the conflict in Syria as long as the ousted regime remained in power.
He highlighted that new energy projects and pipeline routes now offer alternative to the Strait of Hormuz, weakening Iran’s ability to wreak havoc on the world economy.With Syria’s liberation, Damascus and Washington have embarked on a new diplomatic path, reflected in a series of bilateral meetings between PresidentAhmad al-Sharaaand U.S. PresidentDonald Trump. These engagements have paved the way toward ending the era of sanctions and moving into a new phase grounded in dialogue, stability, and partnership in reconstruction and economic recovery.
