Más de 2,600 dominicanos acceden a un hogar propio con entregas del Mivhed durante el primer semestre de 2026
Boca Chica.– At the end of the first half of 2026, the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed) reached 890 apartments delivered through the Happy Family and My Housing housing programs, benefiting more than 2,600 Dominicans who today have their own, safe and decent home.
This balance was presented during the delivery ceremony of the Nuevas Esperanzas II residential complex, headed by President Luis Abinader in the Andrés municipality, Boca Chica, where the Government delivered 112 new apartments that will benefit more than 600 Dominicans, expanding the opportunities for access to decent housing through the Happy Family National Housing Plan.
"We have reached the middle of the year and it is worth stopping for a moment to look at what together we have been building. With this delivery of 112 new units, there are already 890 apartments delivered during this year, which today means more than 2,600 Dominicans who begin a new stage of their lives under their own, safe and dignified roof. And that is precisely the reason for a public policy: that the results reach the people," he pointed out. Minister Víctor Bisonó.
The assignment of the beneficiaries of this program shows a marked social and inclusive approach. According to the demographic indicators presented by the Mivhed, 58.62% of the homes delivered are owned by a woman, consolidating them as the main breadwinner of the home and driver of family stability. Likewise, the Happy Family program has boosted property access for Dominican youth, recording that 53.01% of the owners are in the age range of between 18 and 35 years.
The dynamism of the benefited population is also reflected in their labor insertion: 84% of the new owners are part of the economically active population. Minister Bisonó stressed that the daily effort of these working families today finds a tangible reward that allows them to leave behind informal renting and vulnerable conditions to begin building a secure heritage for their children.
The Dominican Government supports the financing of families through various articulated bonuses, which include the Initial Bonus, Rate Bonus, First Home Bonus and the Women's Bonus.
The head of Mivheden emphasized that the results obtained in this first part of the year are a reflection of the strength of the strategic alliance between the State and the private sector.
Looking ahead to the next period, he announced that institutional projections will maintain an increasing pace. "If the first semester allowed us to get here, the second semester will be much more dynamic. We will continue to accelerate deliveries, expand opportunities and bring housing solutions to more Dominican families," Bisonó concluded.
The delivery of Nuevas Esperanzas II reaffirms the commitment of the Dominican Government to continue promoting housing solutions that contribute to improving the quality of life of thousands of citizens and promoting more inclusive and sustainable urban development.
About the National Happy Family Plan
The National Happy Family Plan is an initiative aimed at facilitating access to decent and proper housing for Dominican families belonging to the most vulnerable segments of the population, with the purpose of contributing to the reduction of the housing deficit and strengthening the well-being of households.
From Mivhed, through Fonvivienda, the program continues to strengthen its evaluation and management processes, advancing in the review of the bank of applications received until December 30, 2025, with the purpose of optimizing the allocation of housing units available in the different projects under execution, under criteria of transparency, efficiency and equity.

De acuerdo con los indicadores demográficos presentados por el Mivhed, el58.62 %de las viviendas entregadas tienen como titular a una mujer, consolidándolas como el principal sostén del hogar y motor deestabilidad familiar. Asimismo, el programa Familia Feliz ha dinamizado el acceso patrimonial para la juventud dominicana, registrando que el53.01 %de los titulares se encuentra en el rango de edad deentre 18 y 35 años. El dinamismo de la población beneficiada también se refleja en suinserción laboral: el84 %de los nuevos propietarios forma parte de la población económicamente activa. El ministro Bisonó subrayó que el esfuerzo diario de estas familias trabajadoras hoy encuentra unarecompensa tangibleque les permite dejar atrás el alquiler informal y lascondiciones de vulnerabilidadpara comenzar a construir unpatrimonio seguropara sus hijos. El Gobierno dominicano acompaña el financiamiento de las familias mediante diversos bonos articulados, que incluyen elBono Inicial, Bono Tasa, Bono Primera Vivienda y el Bono Mujer. El titular delMivhedenfatizó que los resultados obtenidos en este primer tramo del año son el reflejo de la solidez de laalianza estratégicaentre el Estado y el sector privado.
