INABIE brindó atención odontológica a más de 37,000 estudiantes durante el año escolar 2025-2026
Santo Domingo.–More than 37,000 students in the public education system received oral health care through the services offered by the National Institute for Student Welfare (INABIE) during the 2025-2026 school year, as part of the actions aimed at promoting prevention, timely detection of conditions and the comprehensive well-being of the student population.
Within the framework of these actions, INABIE specialists performed 59,977 dental interventions, including prophylaxis, application of fluoride, pit and fissure sealants, pulp cappings, temporary extractions, resin and amalgam fillings, among other preventive and restorative procedures aimed at preserving the oral health of the students.
In addition, they delivered 35,772 oral hygiene kits to reinforce care and prevention habits in schools and homes.
The institution highlighted as one of the most relevant advances of the period the implementation of seven oral health modules during the current administration, expanding the care capacity of these specialized services for students.
The new dental modules are located at the Leopoldo Navarro school, in Montecristi; the Gloria María Calcaño Polytechnic, in Samaná; the Padre Lamarche Educational Center, in La Vega; Martha Elementary School, Los Alcarrizos; Emilio Prud'Homme, from Boca Chica; the Professor Irma Inés Marmolejo Educational Center, from María Trinidad Sánchez, and the Damián David Ortiz center, from San Juan.
In total, INABIE currently has 65 dental modules installed nationwide, strategically distributed to bring care closer to the different educational communities.
"Oral health is an essential part of student well-being. A student who receives preventive and timely care has better conditions to develop, learn and function fully in their school environment. That is why we have worked to strengthen and expand these services for the benefit of thousands of boys, girls and adolescents," said Adolfo Pérez, executive director of INABIE.
The program offers services aimed at promoting oral health, evaluation, prevention and monitoring of conditions that can affect the quality of life and performance of students, also contributing to promoting hygiene habits from an early age.
The expansion of the dental modules is part of the initiatives promoted during the current administration to bring health services to the student population and expand the coverage of programs that directly affect their well-being.
The institution pointed out that, beyond clinical care, these spaces have become points of orientation and education for students, promoting self-care practices that can accompany them throughout their lives and contribute to better health in adulthood.

En total, el INABIE cuenta actualmente con65 módulos odontológicosinstalados a nivel nacional, distribuidos estratégicamente para acercar la atención a las distintas comunidades educativas. “La salud bucal es una parte esencial del bienestar estudiantil. Un estudiante que recibe atención preventiva y oportuna tiene mejores condiciones para desarrollarse, aprender y desenvolverse plenamente en su entorno escolar. Por eso hemos trabajado para fortalecer y ampliar estos servicios en beneficio de miles de niños, niñas y adolescentes”,afirmó Adolfo Pérez, director ejecutivo del INABIE. El programa ofrece servicios orientados a la promoción de lasalud oral, evaluación, prevención y seguimientode condiciones que pueden afectar la calidad de vida y el desempeño de los estudiantes, contribuyendo además a fomentarhábitos de higienedesde edades tempranas.
