S.E. el Presidente de la República, José Antonio Kast anunció que a raíz de los efectos del sistema frontal que afecta a la zona centro norte, se ha decretado Estado de Excepción de Catástrofe para la Región de Coquimbo y la provincia del Huasco, en la Región de Atacama.El mandatario hizo el anuncio al encabezar el sexto Consejo de Gabinete y tras la reunión del comité de Seguridad que tuvo esta mañana.“Como la situación en la Región de Coquimbo y en la Provincia de Huasco ha ido aumentando en la gravedad, por temas de cortes de suministro de agua potable, por algún tipo de desplazamiento de tierra, por aumento de los caudales y cortes de energía eléctrica, como el jueves estuvimos también en la Escuela de Infantería, estuvimos en la FACh y anteriormente en el SHOA, pudimos evaluar en qué momento 3 se decretaba el estado de excepción de catástrofe y solicitarle, como corresponde en las regiones o provincias que se determine, la activación de este estado de excepción constitucional. Hemos determinado que esto se realice en la Región de Coquimbo y en la Provincia de Huasco”, anunció el Presidente.Añadió además que “le hemos solicitado, y ya estaba en terreno el subsecretario de Desarrollo Social, el Subdere, en la Provincia del Huasco, colaborándole a la delegada de la provincia, porque ha habido cortes de rutas y le hemos solicitado también al ministro de Obras Públicas que permanezca en la Región de Coquimbo”. A ellos se sumarán otros ministros que irán a otras regiones a apoyar el proceso, adelantó.El Presidente explicó que dado que existían proyecciones del impacto que tendrían estos frentes, se adoptaron medidas con tiempo.“Los recursos no han dejado de llegar con anticipación y en eso agradecerle a cada uno de los gobernadores a nivel regional, todo lo que se logró acordar en reuniones previas. Tuvimos dos reuniones con AGORECHI, bastante anticipadas a lo que es este frente de mal tiempo, donde determinamos cuáles eran los puntos críticos para el uso de los recursos. Por eso, se dispuso con anticipación la dictación de decretos de emergencia, para que los recursos puedan usarse durante la emergencia y no como en ocasiones anteriores que llegaban de manera posterior en aquellas regiones que los recursos habían sido utilizados ya por otro tipo de desgracias, como el tema de los incendios en Biobío”, indicó.Agregó que “se generaron las coordinaciones con Hacienda para poder señalarle a cada uno de los alcaldes y gobernadores que los recursos en caso de emergencia no van a faltar y que vamos a hacer todas las adecuaciones necesarias para ir en ayuda de las personas que hoy día están damnificadas y sufriendo”.
