Islamabad, July 19 (SANA)Pakistan and Kuwaiton Sunday called for full adherence to the ceasefire commitments outlined in theIslamabad Memorandum of Understandingand urged all parties to avoid further escalation in the region.

According to Pakistan’s state news agency, the appeal came during a phone call between Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterMohammad Ishaq Darand Kuwaiti Foreign MinisterJarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah,who discussed the latest regional developments.

Dar stressed the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and underscored the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states. The two ministers also agreed to maintain close coordination and remain in regular contact on issues of mutual concern.

TheKuwaiti foreign ministerexpressed concern over continued attacks on Kuwaiti territory and called for maximum restraint by all parties, urging the full implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

He also praisedPakistan’s mediation efforts, describing its role in promoting dialogue and supporting regional stability as constructive.

Pakistan on Thursday urged theUnited States and Iranto end the violence and resume negotiations under the memorandum brokered by Islamabad and signed last month.

The United States and Iran signed the memorandum on June 18 to halt the conflict. However, tensions flared again in early July afterU.S. strikes on Iranin response to attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. On July 8, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the termination of the memorandum.
