Presidente Abinader inaugura techado deportivo y nuevas aulas de educación inicial en la Escuela Primaria Félix Lope de Vega que beneficiarán a cientos de estudiantes de Los Alcarrizos
Santo Domingo.–President Luis Abinaderinaugurated this Saturday the sports roof and new classrooms for the initial level of the Félix Lope de Vega Primary School, expanding the spaces for teaching, sports and the comprehensive training of hundreds of students in the community.
During the event, the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps García, highlighted that the new classrooms will expand learning opportunities for the youngest students, by offering them adequate spaces for a fundamental stage of their development, in which the skills and competencies that will serve as the basis for their academic training are strengthened.
Likewise, he explained that the new roof and the multipurpose room will allow sports, cultural, recreational and training activities to be carried out in a safe environment, which contributes to promoting values such as teamwork, discipline, respect and healthy coexistence among students.
The official stated that these works respond to the commitment of President Abinader's government to guarantee decent and modern environments for the teaching-learning process, considering that education is also built in spaces where students share, play sports, discover talents and strengthen their coexistence.
De Camps pointed out that each infrastructure delivered represents an investment in the comprehensive development of students and in the well-being of the entire educational community, which is why he urged teachers, students, families and administrative staff to care for and preserve the new facilities for the benefit of present and future generations.
The minister also reported that the Ministry of Education is working intensely to guarantee that on August 24, the beginning of the school year, all students will find schools that are open, organized and prepared to offer quality education, as part of the commitment assumed together with President Luis Abinader to continue expanding educational opportunities throughout the country.
New opportunities to learn, play sports and build a better future
Representing the student community, the third grade student at the primary level, Aisha Valentina Marte, thanked President Abinader, the Minister of Education and the other authorities for the delivery of the works, stating that both the roof and the new classrooms represent new opportunities to learn, play sports and build a better future.
The student also expressed the commitment of her classmates to take care of the facilities and use them responsibly, so that they continue to be a space for training, coexistence and development for current and future generations.
The works were executed by the Directorate of School Infrastructure (DIE), under the direction of Roberto Herrera, as part of the program to strengthen educational infrastructure promoted by the Government to guarantee safe, modern and adequate spaces for learning and the comprehensive development of students.

El funcionario afirmó que estas obras responden alcompromiso del gobierno del presidente Abinaderde garantizarambientes dignos y modernospara el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, al considerar que la educación también se construye en los espacios donde los alumnos comparten, practican deportes, descubren talentos y fortalecen su convivencia. De Camps señaló que cada infraestructura entregada representa unainversión en el desarrollo integral de los estudiantesy en el bienestar de toda la comunidad educativa, por lo que exhortó a docentes, estudiantes, familias y personal administrativo a cuidar ypreservar las nuevas instalaciones para beneficio de las presentes y futuras generaciones. El ministro también informó que el Ministerio de Educación trabaja intensamente para garantizar queel próximo 24 de agosto, inicio del año escolar,todos los estudiantes encuentrenescuelas abiertas, organizadas y preparadaspara ofrecer una educación de calidad, como parte del compromiso asumido junto al presidente Luis Abinader de continuar ampliando las oportunidades educativas en todo el país. La estudiante expresó además el compromiso de sus compañeros de cuidar las instalaciones y utilizarlas con responsabilidad, para que continúen siendo unespacio de formación, convivencia y desarrollopara las actuales y futuras generaciones.
