Abu Dhabi, July 18 (SANA)UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Saturday to discuss regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East.

According to the UAE’s state news agency (WAM), the two ministers reviewed efforts to promote security, stability and sustainable peace in the region.

They also discussed bilateral relations and ways to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, WAM said.

The phone call came amid heightened regional tensions following renewed military exchanges between the United States and Iran.
