Presidente Abinader inaugura la estación de transferencia de residuos sólidos con el programa Basura Cero
Santo Domingo.– The mayor of the Los Alcarrizos municipality, Junior Santos, stated this Saturday that the demarcation "looks better and is better" since the arrival of President Luis Abinader to the Government in 2020, highlighting the main works carried out for the benefit of the community.
During the central words of the inauguration ceremony of the solid waste transfer station, headed by the president, the mayor pointed out that the investment was RD 49 million and that it will strengthen the Zero Waste program, by improving the efficiency of the solid waste collection and disposal system.
He also explained that the infrastructure will allow the operational capacity of the collection trucks to triple, which will go from transporting between 8 and 12 tons per day to moving between 24 and 26 tons per day, which optimizes collection times and reduces service costs.
He also indicated that the collection trucks will unload the larger-capacity wrapped waste, responsible for transporting it to the final destination, while the collection units will immediately return to their routes, which will contribute to offering a more efficient service and maintaining a cleaner city.
Highlights works carried out during President Abinader's administration
When referring to the works carried out by the president since he assumed the presidency of the Republic in 2020, Santos explained that the municipality today has important infrastructures such as the Cable Car, the extension of Line 2C of the Santo Domingo Metro, more than a dozen new schools, the delivery of more than 20,000 property titles, the construction of more than 2,000 apartments, the remodeling of the Vinicio Calventi Hospital, a clinical center for diagnosis and care primary school, land destined for the municipal cemetery and more than 56 works developed with the support of the Government.
Santos maintained that these initiatives have contributed to raising the quality of life of residents, by expanding access to essential services, strengthening urban mobility and promoting orderly development in one of the fastest growing municipalities of Greater Santo Domingo.
Likewise, he highlighted that the support of the central government has allowed the execution of high-impact projects that for years were demanded by the population, consolidating an alliance between the national authorities and the council to promote the comprehensive development of Los Alcarrizos.
The mayor also highlighted that the execution of infrastructure works and social programs has boosted the local economy, generated jobs and strengthened citizens' confidence in the response capacity of public institutions.
He added that the continuity of these investments will allow other priority needs of the municipality to be met, with the purpose of continuing to improve public services and the living conditions of its inhabitants.
The blessing of the work was carried out by priest Jacek Swed, parish priest of the San Estanislao de Los Alcarrizos Church.
The governor of the Santo Domingo province, Lucrecia Santana Leyba, participated in the activity; the undersecretary of the Dominican Municipal League, Mayrelin García, and the executive director of DO Sostenible, Príamo Rafael Ramírez.

También, indicó que los camiones recolectores descargarán los residuos envolquetas de mayor capacidad, encargadas de trasladarlos hasta el destino final, mientras lasunidades de recolección retornarán de inmediato a sus rutas,lo que contribuirá a ofrecer unservicio más eficientey mantener unaciudad más limpia. Destaca obras ejecutadas en la gestión del presidente Abinader Al referirse alas obras ejecutadaspor el presidente desde que asumió la presidencia de la República en el 2020, Santos explicó queel municipiocuenta hoy conimportantes infraestructurascomo elTeleférico, la extensión de la Línea 2C del Metro de Santo Domingo, más de una docena denuevas escuelas, la entrega demás de 20,000 títulos de propiedad, la construcción demás de 2,000 apartamentos,la remodelación delHospital Vinicio Calventi, un centro clínico de diagnóstico y atención primaria, terrenos destinados alcementerio municipalymás de 56 obrasdesarrolladas con el respaldo del Gobierno.
