Amman, July 18 (SANA)The Syrian U-17 girls’ national football team secured a 1-0 victory over itsSaudicounterpart on Friday, marking a winning start to its campaign in the West Asian U-17 Girls’ Championship, which is being hosted byJordanfrom July 17 to 25.

The decisive goal was scored by player Masa Minya in the 65th minute.

Syria is competing in Group A of the tournament alongside the teams of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon.

The championship features eight national teams divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
