Puente flotante será cerrado este sábado durante dos horas
Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) reported that this Saturday the floating bridge over the Ozama River will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with the purpose of allowing three vessels to pass through.
The institution explained that during the established period the M/T Soli Deo Gloria ship will be lowered from the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. shipyard.
While the IMI 105 barge will be boarding, as well as the M/V Sheskna vessel, bound for the Malacca facilities, operations that require the total opening of the bridge to allow safe movement.
The floating bridge is an important connection between the National District and the Villa Duarte sector, in the Santo Domingo Este municipality.
The MOPC appreciates the citizens' understanding of this measure, which is adopted to guarantee the safety of shipping operations and vehicular traffic, while reiterating its commitment to keeping the population informed about planned interventions that may temporarily affect mobility.

El puente flotante es unaimportante conexión entre el Distrito Nacional y el sector Villa Duarte, en el municipio Santo Domingo Este. El MOPC agradece lacomprensión de la ciudadaníaante esta medida, que se adopta para garantizar la seguridad de las operaciones navieras y del tránsito vehicular, al tiempo que reitera su compromiso de mantener informada a la población sobre las intervenciones programadas que puedan incidir temporalmente en la movilidad.
