ITLA entrega primera certificación en inteligencia artificial al alto mando de la Policía Nacional
Santo Domingo.– The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) delivered the first certification in artificial intelligence directed to the high command of the National Police, an event that marks a milestone for both institutions and strengthens the process of institutional modernization through the incorporation of emerging technologies.
The training, called "Artificial Intelligence Applied to Police Sciences", was developed over five weeks and allowed general officers to acquire specialized knowledge on the strategic use of artificial intelligence to strengthen police management, optimize operational and investigative processes and improve data-based decision making.
The certificate delivery ceremony was led by the rector of ITLA, engineer Jimmy Rosario Bernard, and the general director of the National Police, Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz, who highlighted the importance of incorporating technological and innovative tools to respond more efficiently to the challenges of citizen security.
During his speech, the rector of ITLA highlighted that this certification represents a transcendental step in the institutional mission of promoting specialized technological training and contributing to strengthening the capacities of State institutions.
"Artificial intelligence represents a key tool to strengthen the capacity for analysis and decision-making in institutions. At ITLA we are proud to contribute to the preparation of the high command of the National Police with specialized training that incorporates knowledge and skills to promote more efficient, strategic and innovative management, taking advantage of the potential of science and technology," said rector Jimmy Rosario Bernard.
During the training program, participants delved into the use of artificial intelligence tools for the analysis and processing of information, support for decision making, optimization of operational and investigative processes, predictive analysis, automation of tasks and use of emerging technologies applied to the prevention and prosecution of crime.
For his part, the director general of the National Police, Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz, valued the importance of this training as part of strengthening institutional capacities and urged officers to put into practice the knowledge acquired to continue promoting more modern, efficient and innovative police management.
"Permanent updating is essential to continue strengthening our institutional capabilities. We trust that the knowledge acquired during this training will translate into better tools for the performance of our functions and in an increasingly efficient, professional and innovative National Police at the service of citizens," said Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz.
This certification is part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) and the National Police, through which both institutions develop training programs, specialized certifications and innovation initiatives to strengthen the technological, operational and academic capabilities of police personnel.
With this initiative, ITLA reaffirms its leadership as the main specialized technological education institution in the country, contributing to the digital transformation of public institutions through the formation of highly trained human capital and promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence as a tool for innovation, efficiency and strengthening the services that citizens receive.
The rector of ITLA was accompanied by Juan Matos, vice-rector of Extension and Social Linkage, and Fabricio Cabrera, academic advisor.
