Infotep certifica a 1,353 privados de libertad con formación que busca facilitar su reinserción social
Santiago. -The National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep), through its Cibao Norte Regional Directorate, certified 1,353 people deprived of liberty from the Rafey Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR), who successfully completed technical-professional training programs aimed at the development of labor skills that favor their social insertion and their incorporation into the labor market once their judicial process is completed.
The training session was developed within the framework of the strategic alliance between Infotep and the Attorney General's Office of the Republic, through the General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC), an initiative that promotes technical training as an instrument of personal transformation, social inclusion and construction of new life opportunities.
Representing the general director of Infotep, Maira Morla Pineda, the deputy regional director of Cibao Norte, Elvis Pérez Veras, highlighted that each certification represents an opportunity for participants to rebuild their life project through work and the development of productive skills.
"Each certificate they receive today represents much more than learning a trade. It is evidence that technical-professional training can transform lives, strengthen confidence in each person's abilities and open new opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and social reintegration. That is the commitment that Infotep maintains with inclusive training that leaves no one behind," said Pérez Veras.
During his intervention, he reported that, in the last three years, Infotep has trained 6,430 people deprived of liberty in the Rafey Men and Rafey Women correction and rehabilitation centers, through 307 training actions in the Cibao Norte Regional Directorate.
Representing the 1,353 prisoners who successfully completed the training actions given by Infotep, a total of 170 participants from the CCR Rafey Hombres received their certificates during the ceremony.
On this occasion, they received certifications in nine technical areas, including Crafts, Hairdressing, Beauty, Gastronomy, Agriculture, Electricity and Sales, skills that expand their possibilities of accessing decent employment or developing productive initiatives to regain their freedom.
The ceremony was led by the director of the Rafey Correction and Rehabilitation Center, Frank Cabrera Paniagua, who valued training for work as one of the fundamental pillars of the penitentiary model aimed at the rehabilitation and reintegration of people deprived of liberty.
Also participating were Judge Julio César Araujo, judge of the Execution of Sentence, and Judge Geraldo Andrés Ponce, representing the chief prosecutor of Santiago, along with other authorities and special guests, who agreed to highlight the impact of technical-professional training as a tool to promote social inclusion, reduce recidivism and contribute to the development of productive citizens.
With initiatives like this, Infotep reaffirms its commitment to offering quality and inclusive technical-professional training, creating opportunities for all sectors of the population and contributing to human development, employability and the construction of a more equitable society.
