Vicepresidenta Raquel Peña regresa al país tras concluir agenda internacional
Santo Domingo.-The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, returned to the country this Friday to continue her national agenda, after concluding an official mission that began on Tuesday in the United States and continued in Spain on Wednesday and Thursday, focused on strengthening cooperation and expanding the economic relations of the Dominican Republic.
The vice president arrived at the Dr. José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of the Americas around 3:00 in the afternoon, where she was received by the general manager of Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom), Cyril Girot, and the general director of the Specialized Corps for Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC), pilot brigadier general Enmanuel Souffront Tamayo, FARD.
In Washington D.C., Peña and the Minister of Public Health, Víctor Atallah, held a meeting with the Secretary of Health and Human Services of the United States, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to follow up on the memorandum of understanding signed between both nations on health matters.
At the meeting, coordinated by the United States ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Campos, opportunities for cooperation were addressed to continue strengthening the health systems of both countries.
Subsequently, the vice president moved to Madrid, where she completed an agenda of meetings and institutional meetings aimed at strengthening economic ties between the Dominican Republic and Spain.
During his stay in the Spanish capital, he participated in the First Libertas Forum, where he highlighted the signs of solidity of the Dominican economy and called for deepening cooperation between Europe and Latin America.
Likewise, he held a meeting with the director of Relations with Ibero-America of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Narciso Casado, during which he confirmed the participation of the Dominican Republic in the XXX Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held in November in Madrid.
At that meeting, conversations also advanced to explore the pilot application in the country of the 4T Model, an initiative aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Dominican micro, small and medium-sized companies.
As part of the mission, Peña also made an institutional visit to the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), where she was received by Juan Luis Cebrián, a full academician of the institution, founder and first director of the newspaper El País.
Once the planned agenda in both capitals was concluded, the vice president returned to the Dominican Republic to continue attending to the responsibilities of her role.
The mission is part of the strategy of President Luis Abinader's government to strengthen cooperation with strategic partners and generate new opportunities for the economic development of the country.

Concluida la agenda prevista en ambas capitales, la vicepresidenta retornó a la República Dominicana paracontinuar atendiendo las responsabilidades propias de su función.
