UAE condemns renewed Iranian attacks as Kuwait reports strike on power station
Regional Capitals, July 17 (SANA)TheUnited Arab Emirateson Friday condemned renewedIranian missileand drone attacks targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan, while Kuwait reported a fire at one of its power stations following an Iranian strike.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity said a fire broke out at a power station, damaging several generating units. Firefighters responded to contain the blaze, while emergency crews worked to stabilize the country’s electricity grid, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Earlier on Friday,Kuwait‘s military said it had detected and intercepted 32 hostile drones that entered the country’s airspace since early Thursday, adding that all were successfully intercepted by air defense systems.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the latest Iranian attacks as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan, and a threat to their security and stability.
The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with the four countries and expressed support for all measures aimed at safeguarding their security and protecting their stability.
The developments come as Gulf states and Jordan continue to face repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks amid renewed military exchanges between the United States and Iran.kA.ABD
