President Mahama announced that the government has selected a strategic investor to revive Volta Star Textiles Limited.

“We appointed a transaction advisor, advertised for strategic investors, and they applied and submitted bids. We have now selected one strategic investor to partner with us to revitalise the factory,” he said.

On the critical issue of raw material supply, the President said arrangements are underway with the Republic of Benin to guarantee a steady supply of cotton for the plant.

“Arrangements are being made to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Benin to supply cotton for the factory in Ghana,” he stated.
