Presidente Laura Fernández ordenó fortalecer servicio prehospitalario en estaciones de bomberos
President gave guidelines during the institution's 161st anniversary ceremony.
As part of the commemoration of the 161st anniversary of the Benemérito Fire Department of Costa Rica, this morning a solemn ceremony was held at the South Metropolitan Fire Station, where the President of the Republic, Laura Fernández Delgado, was named First General Commander of the Institution.
As part of this commemoration, the President of the Republic ordered the Administration and the Board of Directors of the Benemérito Fire Department to begin the necessary steps to strengthen the pre-hospital service in 25 Fire Stations in the country, with the purpose of expanding the emergency response capacity and providing better service to the population.
The instruction issued by the president reaffirms the commitment of the Government of the Republic to strengthening the Benemérito Fire Department, promoting projects that allow modernizing the institutional infrastructure, strengthening operational capacity and expanding the services they provide to citizens.
The activity included the participation of members of the Fire Board of Directors, directors, headquarters, representatives of Fire Stations from all over the country, as well as special guests.
As a symbol of this appointment, the President of the Republic received a firefighter helmet that represents leadership, commitment and shared responsibility with the mission of protecting life, property and the environment.

En el marco de la conmemoración del 161 aniversario del Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos de Costa Rica, esta mañana se realizó un acto solemne en la Estación de Bomberos Metropolitana Sur, donde la Presidente de la República, Laura Fernández Delgado, fue nombrada Primera Comandante General de la Institución. Como parte de esta conmemoración, la Presidente de la República ordenó a la Administración y al Consejo Directivo del Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos, que inicie las gestiones necesarias para fortalecer el servicio prehospitalario en 25 Estaciones de Bomberos del país, con el propósito de ampliar la capacidad de atención de emergencias y brindar un mejor servicio a la población. La instrucción girada por la mandataria reafirma el compromiso del Gobierno de la República con el fortalecimiento del Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos, impulsando proyectos que permiten modernizar la infraestructura institucional, fortalecer la capacidad operativa y ampliar los servicios que brindan a la ciudadanía. La actividad contó con la participación de integrantes del Consejo Directivo de Bomberos, directores, jefaturas, representantes de Estaciones de Bomberos de todo el país, así como invitados especiales. Como símbolo de este nombramiento, la Presidente de la República recibió un casco de bombero que representa el liderazgo, el compromiso y la responsabilidad compartida con la misión de proteger la vida, los bienes y el ambiente.
