A key event of the visit was the meeting of the Uzbekistan delegation with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. During the conversation, sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the intensification of contacts at various levels, and the steady growth of mutual trade. Mutual readiness was confirmed to deepen the strategic partnership and strengthen friendship and good-neighborliness.
On the same day, Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks in a restricted format with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. The parties discussed the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, the development of political dialogue, as well as prospects for cooperation in trade, economic, transport and logistics, energy, cultural, humanitarian and border areas. Special attention was paid to coordinating approaches on current regional and international issues.
Following the talks, several bilateral documents were signed. In particular, the parties concluded an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in ensuring international information security, as well as a program of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries for 2027-2028.
In addition, the latest round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat. During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of tasks set by the Heads of State, priority areas of bilateral engagement, and exchanged views on the regional and international agenda.
