I instructed officials to resolve all outstanding issues and include the scheme in the 2027 Budget proposals. Discussions were also held on further strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Affairs to enhance the efficiency of consular services. I also pointed out that the funds allocated by the Government for the development of the tourism industry could be utilized more effectively by channeling them to the proposed District Secretaries' financial pool and ensuring close coordination between the relevant District Development Committees and Tourism Committees in implementing tourism-related projects. It was also revealed that previous governments had failed to maintain a proper inventory of the properties and lands under the Ministry of Tourism. I therefore instructed officials to expedite the preparation of the relevant records. The discussion also highlighted that the tourism sector would require a workforce of approximately 800,000 by 2030. Attention was therefore focused on plans to further expand and promote the training programs currently conducted through hotel schools in order to meet this future demand.
