According to the latest official update cited by Reuters, the number ofconfirmed infectionshas risen to 2,073, with the death toll reaching 796.

Ebola is a severe viral disease that spreads through direct contact with the bodily fluids of infected people or animals and is often fatal. Symptoms include high fever, vomiting, and internal and external bleeding.
