The Uzbekistan delegation was led by Mirnosir Yusupov, Head of the International Transport Analysis Department at the Ministry of Transport, while the Latvian delegation was led by Tālivaldis Vectirāns, Department Director at the Ministry of Transport.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing cooperation in transport and logistics.
Particular attention was paid to increasing transit freight volumes, creating favorable conditions for carriers, improving the efficiency of logistics chains, and diversifying cargo flows towards Europe.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the parties reached an agreement on the allocation of additional permit forms for Uzbekistan’s national carriers. These permits will be prepared and provided to international carriers by August 10 of the current year.
In addition, an agreement was reached to double the 2027 permit form quota. This will significantly expand the opportunities of national carriers in carrying out international freight transportation to Latvia and other European Union countries.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in international road transport and consistently continue work on the digitalization of the sector.
