Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Meets with A Group of Iraqi Community in the United States and Affirms Iraq’s Need for Their Expertise and Talents …….. Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi met at his residence in Washington, D.C., with a group of Iraqi community in the United States, including prominent business leaders, media professionals, experts, scholarship students, and religious leaders. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi expressed his pleasure at the meeting, affirming that Iraq has the greatest need for the talents and expertise of its citizens abroad, given the important role they can play in the country’s development and reconstruction. He noted that the current conditions of stability have become more conducive to the return of Iraqi expatriates, in light of the comprehensive reforms and measures being implemented by the government, particularly in combating corruption and shaping a new economic identity for Iraq based on diversification and investment. The Prime Minister called on Iraqi business leaders residing in the United States to seize the promising investment opportunities available across Iraq’s various sectors and to play a catalytic role in encouraging U.S. companies to enter the Iraqi market. He affirmed that the government is committed to providing the appropriate environment and the necessary support to ensure the success of their projects, thereby supporting the national economy and creating employment opportunities. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington, and Iraq’s consulates to provide all necessary facilities to members of the Iraqi community, particularly with regard to the issuance of passports and the Unified National Card, as well as the prompt processing of all consular services and official documents. The Prime Minister also listened to members of the Iraqi community’s comments, proposals, and requests, and directed the relevant authorities to follow up on them in a manner that strengthens engagement with Iraqis abroad and encourages them to contribute to their homeland’s development and reconstruction.
