República Dominicana será sede del principal foro mundial sobre transparencia y lucha contra la corrupción del 1 al 4 de diciembre de 2026
Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Republic will host the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) from December 1 to 4, 2026, considered the main global forum on transparency, integrity and the fight against corruption, which will bring together more than 2,000 participants from around 140 countries in the country.
The announcement was made this Wednesday by President Luis Abinader, together with representatives of Transparency International and the International Anti-Corruption Conference, in a meeting with directors of the country's main media outlets, representatives of national newspapers, television channels and radio stations, who learned the details of the organization of this important international event. It will position the Dominican Republic as the center of the global debate on transparency, integrity and the fight against corruption.
During the activity, the president stated that for the Government the fight against corruption and impunity is one of its main priorities, which is why he valued the holding of this conference as an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and the exchange of experiences in favor of more transparent and democratic institutions.
*The conference is held every two years*
The general director of Public Procurement, Carlos Pimentel, explained that the International Anti-Corruption Conference is held every two years and has more than 30 years of experience, consolidated as the main global space for dialogue on transparency, accountability and integrity.
The head of Public Procurement specified that the event will bring together political leaders, representatives of international organizations, civil society, academia, the private sector and journalists from around the world, who will debate the main challenges and solutions to prevent and combat corruption.
Pimentel highlighted that the choice of the Dominican Republic as the venue represents recognition of the progress that the country has experienced in terms of institutional strengthening, transparency and public integrity, while reporting that the official program of the conference will be presented in the coming weeks.
For his part, the director of the International Anti-Corruption Conference, Roberto Pérez Rocha, explained that the agenda will include panels and debates on threats to democracy, environmental crime, illicit financial flows, new technologies, artificial intelligence, disinformation and other challenges that impact governance and the fight against corruption.
Likewise, he highlighted that investigative journalism will occupy a central place within the conference, with the participation of international organizations such as the Pulitzer Center, the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) and the Press and Society Institute (IPYS), which will develop training spaces and exchange of experiences between journalists from different countries.

Meanwhile, the president of Transparency International, François Valérian, thanked the Dominican Government for its support in holding the event and stated that corruption is a global problem that can only be faced through cooperation between governments, civil society, the private sector and the media.
Valérian noted that the conference will promote the exchange of knowledge and good practices to strengthen transparency and integrity, in addition to addressing issues such as disinformation and the need to consolidate greater international cooperation in the face of the challenges facing democracy.
The International Anti-Corruption Conference is recognized as the main world forum on this matter and constitutes a space to promote alliances, share experiences and promote public policies aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and the fight against corruption at a global level.
