Tourism minister inaugurates Ski Land Mall in Damascus

Damascus, July 15 (SANA)Syrian Tourism MinisterMazen al-Salahaniinaugurated the rehabilitatedSki Land Mallon the Damascus International Airport Road on Wednesday, marking the reopening of the commercial and entertainment complex after years of closure caused by the war.

The mall, located in the Damascus countryside, has been redeveloped into a mixed-use destination featuring restaurants, retail outlets representing local and international brands, an indoor ice-skating rink, a cinema and a range of family entertainment facilities.

Covering nearly 30,000 square meters, the two-story complex is expected to create around 400 jobs during its initial phase, with additional employment opportunities planned as the project expands.

Speaking to SANA, al-Salahani said the reopening reflects Syrians’ ability to transform the effects of war into development projects, noting that the mall had been damaged and looted during the war before being restored as a modern commercial and leisure destination.

He said the project demonstrates the determination of Syrians to continue rebuilding through the efforts of local engineers, workers, and investors.

Ziad Shammaa, the mall’s deputy general manager, said Ski Land has long been part of Syrians’ collective memory and now returns as an integrated shopping and entertainment destination, benefiting from its strategic location on the Damascus International Airport Road near a cluster of tourism and service facilities.

Visitors praised the mall’s wide range of amenities, including a supermarket, pharmacy, clothing and home furnishing stores, sports shops, an ice-skating rink, and a modern cinema, describing it as a comprehensive destination for shopping and family entertainment.
