Kuwait Airways resumes flights to Damascus after years-long suspension
Damascus, July 15 (SANA)Kuwait Airways resumed scheduled flights to Damascus on Wednesday, restoring its direct service to Syria after years of suspension as international air links with the country continue to recover.
Damascus International Airport welcomed the carrier’s first inbound flight from Kuwait, marking the latest step in the gradual restoration of regional and international air services to Syria.
Airport authorities said the return of Kuwait Airways reflects growing passenger demand and expanding international connectivity through Damascus International Airport, as more airlines resume operations to the Syrian capital.
The resumption is expected to facilitate travel between Syria and Kuwait while supporting broader efforts to strengthen regional aviation links and expand air transport services.The resumption comes as Damascus International Airport continues to restoreinternational air connections, with a growing number of regional and international carriers resuming flights to Syria. In recent months, airlines includingTurkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Flydubai and several other regional carriers have reinstated services to Damascus, reflecting the gradual recovery of the country’s aviation sector.
