Vicepresidenta Raquel Peña desarrollará agenda en Madrid para ampliar articulación pública-privada
Madrid, Spain.– The Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, will complete an official agenda in the Kingdom of Spain this Wednesday and Thursday, with the purpose of continuing to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, promote new foreign investment opportunities and consolidate strategic alliances that promote economic growth, the generation of quality jobs and the sustainable development of the country.
The visit is part of the Government's strategy led by President Luis Abinader to strengthen relations with international partners and expand ties with key actors in the business, academic and political sectors, as part of the efforts to continue positioning the Dominican Republic as one of the most attractive destinations for investment in the region.
In her agenda, the vice president includes a meeting she will hold with representatives of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), in which opportunities will be addressed to strengthen commercial exchange, promote new investment projects and expand cooperation between Spanish and Dominican companies in strategic sectors for national development.
Peña, who also chairs the Investment Promotion Cabinet, will lead these meetings after the results obtained during the American Investment Forum 2026, a scenario that made it possible to present the competitive advantages of the Dominican Republic to potential investors and reaffirm international confidence in economic stability, the business climate and the investment promotion policies promoted by the Government.
As part of this official mission, the vice president will also participate in the first Libertas Forum, a space for dialogue that will bring together leaders from Europe and Latin America to discuss the main challenges facing contemporary democracies, the strengthening of the rule of law, the protection of fundamental rights and the promotion of economic well-being as a basis for the development of nations.
Within the framework of this forum, Peña will share experiences on public policies implemented by the Dominican Republic to promote economic growth, institutional stability and collaboration between the State and the private sector as drivers of development.
Likewise, during his stay in Madrid he will hold a meeting with the directors of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) and meetings with representatives of the political and cultural spheres, with the aim of consolidating strategic relationships.
With this international agenda, in which the vice president will be accompanied by the founder and president of the Center for Analysis for Public Policies (CAPP), Víctor "Ito" Bisonó, the vice president reaffirms the commitment of the Dominican Government to continue promoting a policy of openness, cooperation and investment promotion that contributes to generating greater opportunities for Dominicans, strengthening the national economy and consolidating the position of the Dominican Republic as a regional reference for business, innovation and development.
