During a meeting with Harry Harkins, Senior Public Policy Analyst at Aquatech, modern technologies for water reuse, desalination of seawater and saline water, the minimization and complete elimination of liquid waste, and the extraction of valuable minerals from water were presented.

The parties discussed prospects for ensuring sustainable drinking water supply in regions with limited water resources, modernizing the sector’s infrastructure, expanding public-private partnership mechanisms and introducing innovative technologies.

Following the meeting, JSC Uzsuvtaminot and Aquatech agreed to develop cooperation, study advanced international experience and explore the possibility of applying the company’s technologies in projects to modernize drinking water supply and wastewater systems in Uzbekistan.

As part of the visit, talks were also held with Chris Bold, Head of Global Sales at the Swiss company GWF AG. The main focus was on the digitalization of the sector.

The parties exchanged views on the digitalization of drinking water and wastewater metering and the introduction of modern data transmission technologies.

Mr. Suvonqulov proposed implementing a pilot project to install ultrasonic metering devices produced by GWF AG at selected collectors of the wastewater system in the city of Tashkent and Tashkent region.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to prepare a Memorandum of Cooperation and jointly implement the pilot project.
