Syria reaffirms commitment to recovery at U.N. sustainable development forum
New York, July 15 (SANA)Syria reaffirmed its commitment to recovery, reconstruction and achieving the 2030Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) during the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) at United Nations headquarters inNew York.
A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, headed byDirector of International Cooperation Qutaiba Qadish, represented Syria at the annualU.N. forum, which brings together governments and international organizations to review progress toward the global development agenda.
On the sidelines of the forum, Syria’s Permanent Mission to theUnited Nationshosted an event titled “Syria’s Recovery: The World’s Role in Building Stability and Exploring Opportunities.”
The event brought together representatives of governments, international organizations and development experts to discuss ways to strengthen international partnerships and mobilize support forSyria’s economicand social recovery, reconstruction efforts and long-term development.
Participants also explored opportunities to expand international cooperation and support projects aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, promoting sustainable development and advancing Syria’s recovery process in line with the U.N. 2030 Agenda.
