Muslim World League condemns Iranian attacks on Kuwait and UAE oil tankers
Mecca, July 15 (SANA)The Muslim World League (MWL) on Wednesday condemnedIran’sattacks targeting Kuwaiti facilities and two UAE oil tankers in theStrait of Hormuz, describing them as violations of international law and a threat to regional security and stability.
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Mohammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, said the attacks violated international law, the U.N. Charter, the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the principles of good-neighborly relations.
Al-Issa said the attacks also contravened religious values and international humanitarian norms and undermined efforts to restore peace and stability across the region.
He reaffirmed the League’s full solidarity withKuwait, theUnited Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain and Qatar in the measures they are taking to safeguard their sovereignty, security and the safety of citizens and residents.
Al-Issa also stressed the need to respect international law, preserve regional security and stability, and prevent further escalation.
Iran has continued launching missile and drone attacks against several Arab and regional countries, resulting in casualties and damage to infrastructure.
