This morning I chaired the Number 1 National Energy Council Meeting 2026 to ensure that the national energy transition agenda continues to be implemented in an organized and impactful manner based on the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). As of last December, we have increased the country's installed capacity of Renewable Energy (Renewable Energy) to 31 percent in line with efforts to reduce dependence on coal. This effort is strengthened through the success of the CRESS Scheme which is now equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). In the transport sector, the implementation of Biodiesel B15 drives the country towards the use of more sustainable alternative fuels, and will be strengthened with the PETRONAS biofuel hub in Pengerang. The public transport electrification project is proceeding according to plan, including the operation of 250 electric buses as well as the coverage of 800 kilometers of the rail network. In Sarawak, Phase 1 of the hydrogen hub development for Automatic Flow Transit (ART) is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. As geopolitical uncertainty and supply crises continue to grip the world, Malaysia must be prepared to ensure long-term energy security. Thus, the Government will study the needs and strategies to create a national petroleum reserve stock as a measure to strengthen the country's resilience. #MalaysiaMADANI #YakinMADANI

#MalaysiaMADANI #YakinMADANI
