Prime Minister Rumen Radev had a meeting with senior staff members of the Polish state-owned Military Aviation Works WZL-2 (Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 S.A.). The Prime Minister thanked them for the long-standing partnership and for the competence in the repair and maintenance of the Bulgarian MiG-29 fighters. Rumen Radev stressed that the contribution of the WZL-2 is essential for the maintenance of the operational capabilities of the Bulgarian Air Force.

At the meeting the parties declared their willingness to continue their cooperation in the coming years. Prime Minister Radev noted that until the manning of a combat squadron of F-16 fighters to prescribed strength that is capable of combat air patrol, Bulgaria will continue to count on the MiG-29 aircraft which calls to ensure their reliable technical maintenance and repair. The WZL-2 staff members stated their full readiness to continue providing the assistance required for the maintenance of the Bulgarian MiG-29.
