Damascus, July 14 (SANA)Syria has extended its sincere congratulations to the government and people of France on the occasion of the French National Day (Bastille Day), wishing France continued progress and prosperity.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed Syria’s commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation with France in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries and their peoples.

French President Emmanuel Macron visited Syria last week, in the first visit by a French president since 2009, aimed at strengthening Syrian-French relations and moving them to a new phase based on mutual respect and equal partnership.
