Gobierno acerca oportunidades para la primera infancia con los Bibliobuses de Semillas del Futuro
The event was led by the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, and the First Lady of the Nation, Leticia Ocampos, and was attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Pedro Alliana; the Minister of Children and Adolescents, Walter Gutiérrez; ministers of the Executive Branch; departmental governors and other national authorities.
The 18 Librarybuses are specially equipped with children's libraries, teaching materials, games, resources for early stimulation and artistic activities. On each tour they will offer reading, learning and family support experiences to strengthen comprehensive development during the first years of life.
More opportunities from early childhood
The First Lady, Leticia Ocampos, pointed out that the Bibliobuses were conceived to bring the Semillas del Futuro program closer to families who live far from early childhood care centers, expanding the presence of the State throughout the national territory. Likewise, he stated that the objective is to guarantee that all children, regardless of where they live, have access to the same opportunities to learn, play and develop, also strengthening the bonds between parents and children during a key stage of their growth.
Decentralization as state policy
President Santiago Peña stated that decentralization constitutes one of the main axes of management, guiding public policies so that State services reach all departments and districts of the country. In this framework, he pointed out that the incorporation of the Librarybuses is part of that strategy, allowing quality services to be brought closer to early childhood throughout the national territory.
Likewise, he expressed that Semillas del Futuro must transcend the periods of government and consolidate itself as a State policy, considering that investment in early childhood constitutes one of the most important actions to expand the opportunities of future generations.
The president added that this initiative joins other policies aimed at the decentralization of public services and reaffirmed the commitment to guarantee that the place where a child is born does not determine the opportunities he or she will have to grow up.
With this new modality, the Government of Paraguay continues to expand the presence of the State in the territory and promote a public policy based on decentralization, equal opportunities and the comprehensive development of early childhood.
