Paraguay fortalece la integración aérea regional con la firma de nuevos acuerdos
The ceremony included the participation of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña; aeronautical authorities of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay; ministers of the Executive Branch; diplomatic representatives and national authorities linked to the aeronautical sector. On the occasion, bilateral memoranda were also signed between Paraguay and Brazil and between Brazil and Argentina.
A roadmap for air integration
The ALAS Memorandum establishes a roadmap to advance towards a Single Regional Aerocommercial Market, through the progressive liberalization of air transport, regulatory harmonization, technical cooperation and the facilitation of operations between South American countries. The initiative remains open to the accession of other States in the region that share these principles.
During the presentation, the authorities pointed out that this agreement reflects a shared vision to expand development opportunities in the aeronautical sector, promote greater cooperation between South American countries and generate conditions that favor more efficient and competitive aviation.
More opportunities for Paraguay and Brazil
At the same event, Paraguay and Brazil signed a Memorandum of Understanding that updates the Bilateral Agreement on Air Services in force between both countries. The instrument incorporates an open route regime (Open Routes) and expands the operational rights of airlines, including the Seventh Freedom of the Air for passenger and cargo operations.
The update will provide greater flexibility for the establishment of new air connections, will facilitate the transportation of passengers and goods and will open new opportunities for commercial exchange and tourism activity between both countries.
Paraguay continues to consolidate a policy of greater openness and international insertion, promoting a more dynamic air network and strengthening its participation in South American integration processes.

El instrumento incorpora un régimen derutas abiertas (Open Routes)y amplía los derechos operacionales de las líneas aéreas, incluyendo laSéptima Libertad del Airepara operaciones de pasajeros y carga. La actualización brindará mayor flexibilidad para el establecimiento de nuevas conexiones aéreas, facilitará el transporte de pasajeros y mercancías y abrirá nuevas oportunidades para el intercambio comercial y la actividad turística entre ambos países. Paraguay continúa consolidandouna política de mayor apertura e inserción internacional,promoviendo una red aérea más dinámica y fortaleciendo su participación en los procesos de integración sudamericana.
