Jeddah, July 14 (SANA)The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister PrinceMohammed bin Salman, welcomed on Tuesday the U.S. administration’s decision to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, reaffirming the Kingdom’s support for Syria’s security, stability and state-building efforts.

During its weekly session, the Cabinet voiced support for the positive steps taken by the Syrian government to strengthen security and stability, build state institutions and fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Last Wednesday, President Ahmadal-Sharaareceived a message from U.S. President Donald Trump confirming that Congress had been formally notified of the decision to begin the process of rescinding Syria’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism. Under U.S. law, Congress will conduct a 45-day review before the decision becomes final.
