The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has taken part in the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, where he called for greater unity and determination in supporting Ukraine at a decisive moment, given the changing dynamics of the conflict.
The President of the Government of Spain emphasised the need to show the same resolve on all fronts in order to pave a credible path towards a ceasefire and put pressure on Russia. To this end, it focused on three strategic areas, such as ensuring military support for Ukraine and stepping up pressure on Russia by moving swiftly to adopt the twenty-first sanctions package. He also highlighted the importance of preparing for negotiations so that security guarantees can be offered once the necessary conditions are met.
Pedro Sánchez stressed that Europe's presence in any negotiation process is essential, requiring a common position, coordination and commitment to ensure the security of both Europe and Ukraine.
Prior to this, he took part in a meeting of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition, an initiative to integrate technology from various countries to improve air defence capabilities.

The members (Ukraine, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain) have signed a Joint Declaration affirming the coalition's defensive nature and its support for the "Flagship Project," which aims to advance the development of defence capabilities based on an integrated ballistic missile defence architecture.
President Sánchez is due to take part this Tuesday, 14 July, in the celebrations to mark France's National Day.
