Transportistas respaldan al Intrant, ratifican que no habrá aumento del pasaje y apoyan operativo de fiscalización en Santiago
Santo Domingo.– Representatives of the G-12 Group, made up of the country's main passenger transport federations and associations, expressed this Monday their support for the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) and the management of its executive director, Milton Morrison. Likewise, they ratified their commitment to keep the price of the ticket unchanged and supported the inspection operation carried out by the institution in Santiago to guarantee compliance with Law No. 63-17 on Mobility, Land Transportation, Transit and Road Safety.
During a meeting held at the Intrant headquarters, transportation leaders expressed their willingness to continue working in a coordinated manner with the institution to preserve the stability of fares and strengthen order in public transportation, for the benefit of millions of users.
Milton Morrison thanked the support expressed by the unions and valued the responsibility assumed by the sector in prioritizing the interest of citizens, despite the increase in operating costs and the volatility of international markets.
In this context, the president of the National Union of Transportation Companies (UNET), Reynaldo Pérez Sánchez, reported that nearly 99% of the country's organized transportation routes maintain their commitment not to increase the price of the ticket and reiterated that any fare review must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Law 63-17 and with the authorization of Intrant.
Morrison recalled that current legislation establishes that Intrant is the only body empowered to authorize changes in public transport fares, so no operator or company can apply increases unilaterally.
As part of the actions to enforce the regulations, the executive director reported that Intrant maintains a control operation in Santiago, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (Digesett), the National Police and the Mayor's Office of Santiago, to supervise the routes where variations in fare collection have been reported.
The representatives of the G-12 Group expressed their support for these supervisory actions and agreed that inspection helps ensure respect for the law, protect users and avoid unauthorized increases in public transportation.
Likewise, they highlighted that the Government maintains support mechanisms for the sector, including fuel subsidies and the Gas Driver Bonus program, measures that help mitigate the impact of operating costs without transferring that economic burden to the population.
With this meeting, Intrant and the main transportation unions strengthen their joint work to guarantee compliance with Law 63-17, preserve the stability of the ticket and continue promoting an organized, safe transportation system for the benefit of all citizens.

Como parte de las acciones para hacer cumplir la normativa, el director ejecutivo informó que el Intrant mantiene un operativo defiscalización en Santiago, en coordinación con la Dirección General de Seguridad de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre(Digesett), la Policía Nacional y la Alcaldía de Santiago, para supervisar las rutas donde se han reportado variaciones en el cobro del pasaje. Los representantes del Grupo G-12 expresaron su respaldo a estas acciones de supervisión y coincidieron en que la fiscalización contribuye agarantizar el respeto a la ley, proteger a los usuarios y evitar aumentos no autorizados en el transporte público. Asimismo, destacaron queel Gobierno mantiene mecanismos de apoyo al sector, entre ellos lossubsidiosa los combustibles y el programaBono Gas Chofer, medidas que ayudan a mitigar el impacto de los costos operativos sin trasladar esa carga económica a la población. Con este encuentro, el Intrant y los principales gremios del transporte fortalecen sutrabajo conjuntopara garantizar el cumplimiento de la Ley 63-17, preservar laestabilidaddel pasaje y continuar impulsando unsistema de transporte organizado, seguro y en beneficio de toda la ciudadanía.
