Ankara, July 13 (SANA)Turkish intelligence has detained asenior ISIS operativein an operation conducted outsideTürkiyeand later transferred him to the country.

According to Türkiye’s Anadolu Agency, citing security sources, the suspect,Talip Güler, illegally entered Syria in January 2014 and carried out operations there in coordination with other ISIS leaders.

The sources identified Güler, also known as Abdüsselam Türki, as the brother of Kasim Güler, the former head of ISIS’s so-called “Türkiye Province,” who was captured in a security operation in 2021.

During questioning, Talip Güler admitted to carrying out activities on behalf of the terrorist group, the sources said, adding that Turkish intelligence continues efforts to disrupt ISIS plots against Türkiye and dismantle its recruitment networks.

The move follows the detention of ISIS operative Ahmad Kazanci in a border security operation on June 17.kA.MZN
