EU Foreign Policy Chief: Syria has remained outside regional tensions
Brussels, July 13 (SANA)European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security PolicyKaja Kallassaid Monday that Syria has succeeded in remaining outside the regional tensions, while stressing the importance of preserving the country’s stability amid ongoing challenges.
Speaking to reporters upon her arrival at the Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, Kallas said the Syrian government continues to face challenges, emphasizing the need to address conditions in displacement camps and ensure that Syria is not drawn into the escalating tensions affecting the region.
TheMiddle Easthas witnessed heightened security and military tensions in the wake of the US-Israeli-Iranian war and the accompanying disruptions to regional maritime navigation. Syria, meanwhile, continues its efforts to consolidate stability, strengthen state institutions and avoid being drawn into the repercussions of these developments.
