Mitur y sectores locales unen esfuerzos para fortalecer el desarrollo turístico de Bayahíbe
Bayahíbe.- With the objective of promoting a common vision for the sustainable development of Bayahíbe, the Ministry of Tourism, representatives of the community, the lodging sector and local merchants established a permanent working group aimed at coordinating strategic actions in favor of the comprehensive strengthening of this important destination.
The initiative seeks to consolidate a space for dialogue, planning and monitoring among the main public, private and community actors, with a view to advancing priority issues such as the reorganization of the destination, tourism management, strengthening the image of Bayahibe and the sustainability of its natural, cultural and economic resources.
During the meeting, the members of the table agreed on the need to work in an articulated manner to guarantee that tourism growth in Bayahíbe occurs in an organized, inclusive and sustainable manner, taking into account both investment and competitiveness opportunities and the quality of life of the local community.
Representatives of the Ministry of Tourism considered that Bayahíbe constitutes one of the destinations with the greatest strategic value for the Dominican Republic, due to its complementary offer, its proximity to important natural attractions and its recognized vocation for service.
Likewise, they reaffirmed the commitment to accompany local efforts to strengthen the management of the destination and increase its positioning at the national and international level.
Representatives of the lodging sector and merchants described the formation of this permanent working group as positive.
They understand that it will allow them to channel proposals, identify joint solutions and follow up on the necessary actions to improve the visitor experience, organize commercial activity and preserve the identity of Bayahíbe.
"The strength of Bayahibe is in its people, in its natural resources and in the ability of all sectors to work together under the same vision. This table represents an important step to build the destination we want: more organized, competitive, sustainable and with greater opportunities for the community," expressed the members of the workspace.
Among the topics addressed are the reorganization of areas for tourist use, the improvement of the urban image, the coordination of promotional initiatives, the strengthening of security and quality of service, as well as the protection of the natural environment as a fundamental axis for the sustainability of the destination.
The permanent working group will follow up on a common agenda, with periodic meetings and the active participation of the sectors involved, ensuring that each action responds to comprehensive planning and the real needs of the territory.
With this initiative, the Ministry of Tourism, the Bayahíbe community, the lodging sector and merchants reaffirm their commitment to continue working together to consolidate Bayahíbe as a model, competitive, orderly and sustainable tourist destination, capable of generating well-being for its residents and high-value experiences for those who visit it.

Asimismo, reafirmaron el compromiso de acompañar los esfuerzos locales para fortalecer la gestión del destino y elevar suposicionamientoa nivel nacional e internacional. Representantes del sector de hospedaje y comerciantes calificaron depositivala conformación de esta mesa permanente de trabajo. Entienden que la misma permitirá canalizarpropuestas, identificarsoluciones conjuntasy dar seguimiento a lasacciones necesariaspara mejorar laexperiencia de los visitantes, ordenar la actividad comercial y preservar laidentidadde Bayahíbe. “La fortaleza de Bayahíbe está en su gente, en sus recursos naturales y en la capacidad que tengamos todos los sectores de trabajar unidos bajo una misma visión. Esta mesa representa un paso importante para construir el destino que queremos: más organizado, competitivo, sostenible y con mayores oportunidades para la comunidad”,expresaron los integrantes del espacio de trabajo. Entre los temas abordados figuran el reordenamiento de áreas de uso turístico, la mejora de laimagen urbana, la coordinación de iniciativas depromoción, el fortalecimiento de laseguridady la calidad del servicio, así como la protección delentorno naturalcomo eje fundamental para lasostenibilidaddel destino. La mesa de trabajo permanente dará seguimiento a unaagenda común, con reuniones periódicas y la participación activa de los sectores involucrados, procurando que cada acción responda a unaplanificación integraly a lasnecesidades realesdel territorio. Con esta iniciativa, el Ministerio de Turismo, la comunidad de Bayahíbe, el sector de hospedaje y los comerciantes reafirman su compromiso de seguirtrabajando juntos para consolidar a Bayahíbe como un destino turístico modelo, competitivo, ordenado y sostenible, capaz de generarbienestarpara sus residentes yexperiencias de alto valorpara quienes lo visitan.
