Autoridades presentan plan de movilidad para los XXV Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe 2026
Santo Domingo.-Representatives of the main institutions responsible for mobility, security and the organization of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games 2026 held a coordination meeting to socialize the mobility plan that will be implemented during the celebration of this important international sporting event.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Security (Digesett), was attended by representatives of the National Institute of Transit and Transportation (Intrant), the Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Miderec) and its Committee created for the Games, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), the Military and Police Commission (Comipol), the Mayor's Offices of the National District, Santo Domingo Este and Santiago, the Metropolitan Office of Transportation Services. Buses (OMSA), Metropolitana de Transporte (MT) and TRAE, who reaffirmed their commitment to working in an articulated manner to guarantee the success of the sports event.
The main objective of the mobility plan is to guarantee safe and efficient access for athletes, judges, delegations, officials and spectators, maintain the continuity of services for residents and visitors, as well as minimize the effects on vehicular circulation in the areas where the competitions and official activities will take place.
The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games 2026 will be held from July 24 to August 8. However, the mobility plan contemplates a longer operational period, between July 17 and August 9, 2026, taking into consideration the early arrival of athletes, judges and other participants, according to the information provided by the Organizing Committee.
During the day, traffic management strategies, official routes, mobility corridors, inter-institutional coordination mechanisms and actions that will provide a timely response to any eventuality were presented, ensuring safe and orderly movement for all citizens.
The participating institutions reiterated that they will continue to hold coordination and monitoring meetings to ensure the correct execution of the mobility plan, contributing to the successful development of one of the most important sporting events in the region and projecting the country as an organized, safe and efficient host.

El objetivo principal del plan de movilidad es garantizar elacceso seguro y eficiente de atletas, jueces, delegaciones, oficiales y espectadores, mantener la continuidad de los servicios para residentes y visitantes, así como minimizar las afectaciones en lacirculación vehicular en las zonas donde se desarrollarán las competencias y actividades oficiales. Los XXV Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe 2026se celebrarán a partirdel 24 de julio al 8 de agosto.No obstante, elplan de movilidad contempla un período operativo más amplio, comprendidoentre el 17 de julio y el 9 de agosto de 2026, tomando en consideración la llegada anticipada de atletas, jueces y demás participantes, de acuerdo con las informaciones suministradas por el Comité Organizador. Durante la jornada fueron presentadas lasestrategiasde gestión del tránsito, lasrutas oficiales, loscorredoresde movilidad, los mecanismos decoordinación interinstitucionaly las acciones que permitirán ofrecer unarespuesta oportunaante cualquier eventualidad, procurando undesplazamiento seguro y ordenado para toda la ciudadanía. Las instituciones participantes reiteraron que continuarán realizando reuniones de coordinación y seguimiento para asegurar la correcta ejecución del plan de movilidad, contribuyendo al desarrollo exitoso de uno de los eventos deportivos más importantes de la región yproyectando al país como un anfitrión organizado, seguro y eficiente.
