UAE offers condolences after deadly Deir Ezzor ferry accident
Abu Dhabi, July 13 (SANA)TheUnited Arab Emirateson Sunday expressed solidarity withSyriaand extended its condolences following the deadly ferry accident in theEuphrates River in Deir Ezzor provincethat left three people dead and others missing.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), theUAE Ministry of Foreign Affairssaid in a statement that the country extends itssincere condolencesand heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the Syrian government and people, over the tragedy, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
The ministry also expressed hope that ongoing search and rescue operations would successfully locate those still missing.
TheSyrian Civil Defenseannounced that three people were killed early Sunday after a ferry collided with a temporary floating military bridge in Deir Ezzor city, causing passengers to fall into the Euphrates River.
