Second voluntary return convoy departs Idlib carrying 39 families

Idlib, July.12 (SANA)A convoy carrying 39 displaced Syrian families leftIdlibon Sunday as part of a voluntary return initiative to Homs and Rural Damascus, local authorities said.

The convoy marks the second phase of the program, bringing the total number of families who have returned under the initiative to 46 after seven families traveled during the first phase last week.

Ahlam al-Rashid, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Idlib, said the initiative aims to facilitate voluntary returns by coordinating with relevant authorities to provide logistical support throughout the journey.

Several returnees welcomed the opportunity to return home after years of displacement while highlighting ongoing challenges, including housing shortages and rising living costs.

The initiative is coordinated by Idlib in cooperation with local social affairs directorates, humanitarian organizations and community representatives to support what officials describe as safe and dignified voluntary returns.
