Damascus, July 12 (SANA)Two people were killed and 23 others injured inroad accidentsacross Syria over the past 24 hours, while Syrian Civil Defense teams also extinguished 147 fires, the Civil Defense said on Sunday.

TheCivil Defensesaid its teams responded to 20 traffic accidents that left two people dead and 23 others injured. First aid was provided to the injured, who were transferred to hospitals for treatment, while teams secured the accident sites and cleared the roads.

Civil Defense teams also responded to 147fires,including two in agricultural fields and crops and 145 in homes, commercial premises, grassland, trees, rubbish and electrical wiring. All of the fires were extinguished and cooled, with damage limited to material losses.

On Friday, Civil Defense teams responded to 14 traffic accidents and 155 fires across various parts of Syria, incidents that resulted in 17 injuries.
