Presidente Abinader prioriza soluciones al agua potable durante encuentro comunitario en Samaná
Samaná.-President Luis Abinader led a close meeting this Saturday with Samaná community members within the framework of “The Government With You”, in which he prioritized the search and monitoring of solutions to common problems and basic services such as drinking water.
Likewise, he highlighted the importance of improving the internal road between the municipalities of Sánchez and Las Terrenas.
In this scenario, the head of State maintains direct contact with Dominicans, giving them the opportunity to present their most prevailing needs, in order to be able to address them according to the priorities of each community.
In response to the words of the head of state, Wellington Arnaud, director of Inapa, recalled that the investment made in the water sector during the last six years is five times greater than those previously made, with more than RD 1,000 million being executed to date in the province.
Immediately, he referred to projects in Las Terrenas, where they plan to complete the sewage system within a period of two months, organizing it according to population growth. Likewise, the distribution of drinking water will be improved with the expansion of the aqueduct, for which some RD 1.8 billion will be allocated.
For the benefit of the community of Sánchez, he assured that this year they will complete the aqueduct and, for the main municipality, Santa Bárbara de Samaná, Arnaud explained that they are currently working on the repair of some equipment so that, in the next few hours, the aqueduct will be working at 100%.
Various solutions are also being managed for the communities of El Limón and Las Galeras, for the latter, the tender for the expansion of the aqueduct will be launched in the last quarter of this year, demonstrating the unwavering commitment to improving living conditions in all communities in the country.
Another sector to which the Government pays great attention is sports, promoting the renovation and construction of new facilities for the practice of sports by children, young people and adults.
In this sense, the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, pointed out that the survey for the work on the Las Terrenas play was completed, while in the coming months the process for a requested roofing in Arroyo Barril will begin.
In addition to these, the intervention of different baseball fields in the province will subsequently continue.
Community works in favor of the province
After his arrival, the president gave way to community participation, in which representatives of Santa Bárbara de Samaná, Las Terrenas, Sánchez, El Limón, Las Galeras, among others, expressed some of their needs.
Among these, the continuity of protection programs for protected areas, a fishing dock, new cemeteries and funeral homes, landfill and ravine solutions, medical care units, police detachments, asphalting and municipal markets.
Likewise, new vocational and technical training schools, housing arrangements, English immersion programs and student incentives.
The parish sector and the disabled sector were also heard, who expressed their joy at having been taken into account, requesting, in the case of the latter, a bus to facilitate their transportation and food rations.

Para beneficio de la comunidad de Sánchez, aseguró que este año culminarán el acueducto y, para el municipio cabecera,Santa Bárbara de Samaná, Arnaud explicó que en estos momentos trabajan en la reparación de algunos equipos para que,en las próximas horas,el acueducto esté funcionando al100 %. Diversas soluciones también se gestionan para las comunidades deEl Limón y Las Galeras,para esta última, se estará subiendo a lalicitaciónpara laampliación del acueductoen el último trimestre de este año, demostrando el inquebrantable compromiso de mejorar las condiciones de vida en todas las comunidades del país. Otro sector al que se le presta gran atención desde el Gobiernoes el deporte,promoviendo elremozamiento y construcciónde nuevas instalaciones para la práctica deportiva de niños, jóvenes y adultos. En este sentido, el ministro de Deportes,Kelvin Cruz, señaló que fue concluido el levantamiento para los trabajos delplay de Las Terrenas, mientras que para los meses próximos se iniciará el proceso para un solicitadotechado en Arroyo Barril. En adición a estos, posteriormente se dará continuidad a la intervención de diferentes campos de béisbol en la provincia. Obras comunitarias en favor de la provincia Tras su llegada, el mandatario dio paso a la participación comunitaria, en la que representantes deSanta Bárbara de Samaná, Las Terrenas, Sánchez, El Limón, Las Galeras,entre otras, expresaron algunas de sus necesidades. Entre estas, la continuidad de los programas de protección a las áreas protegidas, unmuelle de pescadores, nuevos cementerios y funerarias, soluciones de vertederos y cañadas, unidades deatención médica, destacamentos policiales, asfaltados y mercados municipales. De igual forma, nuevasescuelas vocacionales y de capacitación técnica, arreglo de viviendas, programas de inglés por inmersión e incentivos estudiantiles. También fueron escuchados el sector parroquial y el depersonas con discapacidad, quienes manifestaron su alegría por haber sido tomados en cuenta, solicitando en el caso de este último, un autobús que facilite su traslado yraciones alimenticias.
