Presidente Abinader escucha inquietudes de estudiantes de Samaná y anuncia acciones para fortalecer la educación en la provincia
Samaná.–President Luis Abinaders held a meeting this Saturday with young students from different municipalities in the Samaná province, to whom he listened carefully to learn first-hand about their concerns and continue strengthening the conditions of the educational system in the district.
During the conversation, the head of state reiterated the Government's commitment to continue promoting quality, inclusive education with greater opportunities for all. In addition, it verified the operation of the School Feeding programs and the National Student Transportation System (TRAE), initiatives that contribute to guaranteeing the permanence of students in the classrooms, reducing school dropouts and providing better conditions for learning.
Likewise, he motivated young people to investigate and apply to the Beca tu Futuro program, highlighting that this initiative represents an opportunity to continue their professional training and expand their development possibilities.
Another of the topics addressed was the importance of learning the English language as a tool that opens doors to better jobs and higher income, especially in a province with important tourism development like Samaná.
Likewise, he recalled that the Government is advancing in the construction of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) campus in the province, which will allow hundreds of young people to pursue higher education without having to move to other locations, reducing costs for families and expanding access to university education.
More spaces for a better education
For his part, the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, assured that the Government pays special attention to strengthening the educational infrastructure so that students develop their learning processes in adequate and safe spaces.
He added that they are also working on expanding educational centers to incorporate new classrooms into the system.
“We are, like the great team that we are, attentive and acting in that direction,” he expressed.
In response to the needs of the area, he announced that this Sunday, July 12, a new school will be delivered in the municipality of Las Terrenas and the roof of the José Gabriel García Primary School.
Likewise, he reported that some 320 laboratories in different areas of knowledge are in the process of being equipped, with the purpose of strengthening the practical training of students and responding to the demands of the labor market.
Scholarships to promote young talent
Another announcement received with great joy by the students was the granting of scholarships at the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), with the aim of supporting their academic training and bringing them closer to technological education opportunities.
The measures and announcements made during the conversation respond directly to the needs expressed by the students, reaffirming the Government's commitment to continue strengthening the educational system, expanding access to higher and technical education, and generating greater opportunities for Dominican youth.
