Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Receives the Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the World …. Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received today, Saturday, His Beatitude Mar Polis III Nona, Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the World, and the accompanying delegation, which included Archbishop of the Chaldean Archdiocese of Erbil Mar Bashar Matti Warda and a number of Christian clergy. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi affirmed that Iraq’s strength lies in its ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity, as well as in the unity, solidarity, and social cohesion of its people. He stressed that Christians are an active component and an essential partner in building the state and shaping Iraq’s history and future. The Prime Minister stated that the return of Christians who were forced to leave the country due to the difficult circumstances Iraq endured is a national and government priority. He affirmed that the government is moving forward with consolidating stability and taking all measures necessary to ensure security and lasting civil peace. He also expressed the government’s readiness to provide the necessary facilities to support the return of Christian families, including their inclusion in the One Million Residential Land Plots Project, stressing that Iraq is a homeland for all Iraqis and that its diversity is a source of strength for both society and the state. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi called on Iraqi Christian business leaders and investors abroad to return and contribute to the reconstruction process and take advantage of available investment opportunities across various development sectors, particularly healthcare and education. He affirmed that the government will provide all forms of support to ensure the success of their projects, strengthen their contribution to economic development, and create employment opportunities. For his part, His Beatitude Mar Polis III Nona expressed his deep appreciation to the Prime Minister for his attention and support for Iraqi Christian families and business leaders. He affirmed that these positions and measures send an important message that will encourage members of the Christian community in the diaspora to return to their homeland and strengthen their confidence in their future in Iraq. He also affirmed the readiness of Christian business leaders to contribute effectively to investment projects and participate in the reconstruction and development process in a manner that serves Iraq and all its people.
