Damascus, July 11 (SANA)Syria’sInterior Ministrysaid on Saturday that the ongoing investigations into a recently arrested terrorist cell, supported by forensic analysis and security intelligence, have confirmed the group’s responsibility for thecar bombingnear aDefense Ministry-linked building in Damascus in May.

The ministry said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel that members of the cell confessed to carrying out the attack with the aim of targeting public institutions, undermining security and stability, and spreading fear and chaos among civilians.

It added that investigations are underway to identify all those involved or linked to the cell and to take the necessary legal measures against them.

The bombing, which took place near a Defense Ministry-affiliated building in Bab Sharqi area of Damascus on May 19, killed one soldier and injured 23 people, most of them civilians.kA.MZ
